Healing Medicine
Buddha
Introduction
The following is a simple healing
meditation practice which generates a
self-healing energy. If you want to make it
even simpler
and quicker, just do the motivation,
visualization and healing portions.
While dedicated to the benefit of all
beings, this practice should also
generate powerful self-healing forces.
Preparation & Motivation
You should begin by generating in
your mind a positive intention
to benefit all beings and relieve their
suffering by meditating on the
healing Buddha.
Visualization
Visualize a large, blue image of the
"Healing Master of Lapis
Lazuli" in space in front and above you.
His left hand, palm upward
in his lap, holds a bowl full of miraculous
healing nectar. His right
hand rests palm outward on his knee in a
blessing gesture, and holds
a magic plant which cures all diseases. His
color is a deep translucent
blue, and his robes are in hues of yellow,
orange and red.
Healing
Keep visualizing the healing Buddha,
with healing rays emanating
from his body in all directions.

I beseech you, Blessed Medicine
Guru,
Whose sky-colored, holy body of lapis lazuli
Signifies omniscient wisdom and compassion
As vast as limitless space,
Please grant me your blessings.
I beseech you, compassionate Medicine Guru, Holding in your right hand the King of medicines Symbolizing your vow to help all the pitiful sentient beings Plagued by the four hundred and twenty-four diseases, Please grant me your blessings.
I beseech you, compassionate Medicine Guru, Holding in your left hand a bowl of nectar Symbolizing your vow to give the glorious undying nectar of the Dharma Which eliminates the degenerations of sickness, old age and death, Please grant me your blessings.
Mantra of the Medicine Buddha
Tayata Om Bekanje Bekanje Maha
Bekanje Randze Samu Gate Ye Swaha
Dissolution
Dissolve the visualization, prayer
and mantra into clear space.
Recognize that your mind is identical with
that clear space.
Dedication
Whatever merits were produced by
this practice, I dedicate them
all to the health and happiness of all
beings.
